📖 The music that explains how we lived

Music moves us, keeps us company, and helps us make sense of the world, serving as a remarkable gateway to the past. This thematic tour explores Catalonia's history through the tunes and sounds that defined every era.

The route travels from Greco-Roman antiquity and medieval monastic chants to havaneres, workers' choirs, musical modernism, and the Nova Cançó movement. Visitors discover how music mirrored spiritual beliefs, daily lifestyles, social tensions, and collective aspirations over time.

🏛️ Museu d'Història de Catalunya

Located at Plaça de Pau Vila in Barcelona, the Museu d'Història de Catalunya preserves and disseminates collective memory through its permanent exhibition and specialized cultural initiatives.

ℹ️ Good to know: The visit is conducted in Catalan and lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes. The museum provides portable induction loops for visitors upon prior reservation at mhcvisites.cultura@gencat.cat.

✨ An inspiring journey to listen to the past and uncover history's soundtrack.
