📖 Two eras united by grief and resilience
The play intertwines two historical moments far apart in time yet close in human emotion. In the 16th century, a woman retrieves the dead body of her mother, who was hanged on the gallows after being accused of witchcraft. Four centuries later, in 2020, another woman says her final farewell to her mother, who dies from COVID-19.
Connecting both storylines is a specific home located in Mont-ros. It is the house of Margarida de Rugall, mother of na Lideta, who mourns her execution. Centuries later, another Margarida inherits that very same house from her deceased mother, whom she also mourns, and who had never spoken about that hidden heritage. Both women are united by grief, remembrance, and an enduring hunger for life.
