Contemporary art leaves traditional exhibition spaces to embed itself in everyday life across Catalonia with the project “Un museu fora del museu”. 🎨✨

Curated by Martí Manen, this initiative by the Departament de Cultura in collaboration with MACBA and Catalonia's visual arts centres brings works from the MACBA Collection and Archive into unexpected settings.

📖 MACBA artworks in daily life

The project places contemporary artworks in surprising community spaces such as bakeries, bus stops, dental waiting rooms, sports locker rooms, and funeral homes. The aim is to spark new encounters with artistic creation well outside conventional gallery walls.

🎨 Regional network and curation

A total of 25 visual arts centres from the SPEAV network across Catalonia partnered with MACBA to select the featured works and specific locations, spreading contemporary art throughout the territory.

✨ A unique chance to encounter contemporary art in the most everyday settings.
