📖 The story
In the middle of a foggy storm, Poncia, Bernarda Alba's maid, prays for Adela's death. The house has sunk into a sea of silence. Poncia talks to herself, and to them: to Bernarda and her daughters.
Luis Luque writes and directs this piece based on Federico García Lorca's The House of Bernarda Alba, turning a supporting character into the conscience of the whole play. Critics have praised how Lolita's performance and Lorca's words merge into a moving dialogue.
🎶 The staging
Original music by Luis Miguel Cobo, set design by Mónica Boromello and lighting by Paco Ariza. Produced by Pentación Espectáculos and Teatro Español.
ℹ️ Good to know: performed in Spanish, 70 minutes, ages 16 and up. Discounts for over-65s on Tuesdays.
