📖 An insight into libertarian memory
The play takes the memoirs of anarcho-syndicalist Joan Garcia Oliver as its foundation to travel across the vibrant and conflicted decades of the early 1900s. Through this biographical journey, the narrative explores the collective working-class struggles sparked by the Industrial Revolution, highlighting their contradictions, ideals, and mobilization up to the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War.
The staging dismantles the fourth wall, welcoming the audience directly into the shared playing space. With an austere set featuring mobile cubes, dynamic lighting designed by Gabriela Bianchi, and a period soundscape by Sergio Camacho, the production offers a close-up, thought-provoking theatrical encounter.
🎭 Mos Maiorum and Joan Yago
True to their hallmark political theatre grounded in real testimonies, Mos Maiorum brings this production to Teatre Tantarantana following a previous run at Sala Beckett. Featuring a cast formed by Ireneu Tranis, Alba Valldaura, and Xavi Duch, the performance re-examines historical and contemporary social struggles.
✨ A powerful theatrical exploration of working-class solidarity and revolutionary memory.
