📖 Conversations between brothers Pau and Enric Casals
Subtitled Converses entre els germans Pau i Enric Casals, this musical dramaturgy weaves together reflections, memories, and a piano repertoire closely tied to the history and musical universe of the Casals family.
The musical program includes pieces by Pau Casals such as Cançó de bressol, Preludi orgànic, núm. 2, Sant Martí del Canigó (arranged for two pianos), and El cant dels ocells. The performance also features Josefina by C. Casals and an excerpt from Enric Casals' Cello Concerto (transcription).
The evening is rounded off with masterworks from the classical canon: the "Adagio" from J.S. Bach's Concerto for two keyboards in C major, BWV 1061; an excerpt of the "Rondó espressivo" from C. P. E. Bach's Sonata in B minor, W245; and the central theme of the final movement of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, arranged for two pianos by Franz Liszt.
