This is the story of a man and his relationship with his mother, a visionary, indestructible woman who decides from the very beginning that her son is destined for an extraordinary life.

An account of Romain Gary's life from his childhood in Russia to a youth shaped by war, exile and the building of his own identity. Raw yet full of irony and humour: a story of contrasts, loyalty, tenderness and commitment. The tale of a man trying to keep an impossible promise, to become the man his mother imagined.
