📖 The piece
Moving images, sound, texts and quintos posters from Catalonia, Valencia and beyond take a fresh look at tradition: the power, belonging and violence running through rural communities.
Far from nostalgia, the show treats tradition as something alive, full of conflict and room for change. Fermín Sales (Albocàsser, 1990) is a visual artist and filmmaker.
🏛️ La Brossa, Centre de les Arts Lliures
The Fundació Joan Brossa is housed in La Seca, Barcelona's old royal mint in El Born, and is Barcelona's home for the 'free arts': visual theatre, object poetry, magic, performance and live arts, in the spirit of the poet it is named after. It runs exhibitions, shows and activities all season long.
ℹ️ Good to know: The exhibition includes archive images with nudity and violence towards animals. Closed on Mondays and on 8, 25 and 26 December.
✨ A bold look at one of the most deeply rooted village festivals.
