📖 A critical look at the body and its constraints
The exhibition revolves around the body as a social construct, shaped and defined by political, economic, and institutional structures. Through films, photographs, and installations, the artist investigates how bodies are molded by systems such as bureaucracy, labor, borders, and public space.
Positioned between documentary and fiction, Maroufi's works demonstrate how everyday gestures, movements, and bodily postures can shape and produce collective imaginaries. The show offers an exploration of presence and spatial habitation as direct outcomes of systems of regulation, control, and representation.
🎨 A decade of artistic trajectory
This exhibition provides an in-depth survey of Randa Maroufi's work over more than ten years of visual research, presented at La Fabra Centre d'Art Contemporani.
