📖 Peripheral observation in the urban space
"De cua d'ull" is a Catalan expression used when looking at something discreetly or indirectly, without turning one's head or openly paying attention. It is observing through peripheral vision so it seems as though you are not looking.
This is the perspective LUCE embeds into his artistic practice: an approach to public space that requires staying attentive to surroundings and adapting to circumstances as they arise.
🎨 LUCE and art in the public sphere
The modus operandi of artist LUCE (Valencia, 1989) consists of constant journeys through the city. Urban territory serves as his main space for exploration, learning, and artistic production.
The city and its periphery are the origins of his background in graffiti. Rooted in this practice lies his ongoing interest in writing, which extends across his entire body of work.
ℹ️ Good to know: Closed on Mondays.
