📖 Video as political and social intervention
During the Spanish Transition, a group of young practitioners established a working platform using video as an experimental medium for political engagement and social counter-information. Active across Catalonia between 1977 and 1983, Video-Nou challenged official narratives at a time when media institutions still operated under structures inherited from Franco's dictatorship.
The exhibition also covers their evolution into Servei de Vídeo Comunitari, consolidating video as an on-site communication and social intervention service. Here, footage was not an end in itself, but part of a process grounded in continuous feedback and community debate.
