A living nativity is a sequence of scenes of waiting: for a birth, an offering, an arrival. ELPIS, Greek for "hope", brings that tableau into the present.

What does hopeful waiting look like at Christmas in El Born? Who are the figures of today's nativity, and where would we stand?

The Fundació Joan Brossa is housed in La Seca, Barcelona's old royal mint in El Born, and is Barcelona's home for the 'free arts': visual theatre, object poetry, magic, performance and live arts, in the spirit of the poet it is named after. It runs exhibitions, shows and activities all season long.
