The Deutsche Radio Philharmonie conducted by Josep Pons, with Norwegian soprano Elisabeth Teige.

Programme: Prelude and Liebestod from Wagner's Tristan und Isolde, Richard Strauss's Four Last Songs and the orchestral suite from Elektra.

Pons, for years music director of the Liceu, is a leading Wagner conductor. Teige, one of Bayreuth's Wagner voices, sings Strauss's autumnal farewell before the explosion of Elektra.

🏛️ Palau de la Música Catalana

A Modernista masterpiece by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, opened in 1908 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its Concert Hall, with the stained-glass skylight and the sculptures framing the stage, is one of the most beautiful in the world and a regular stop for the great international orchestras.
