📖 Translating the poetry of Clementina Arderiu
Clementina Arderiu i Voltas (1889–1976) represents a singular figure in Catalan poetry. Early admitted into the canon with prestige, family circumstances and a biased selection of her poems often reduced her reputation to the conventional female roles of the Noucentisme period.
This conversation explores how, beneath an apparent simplicity, her lyrical work conceals deep layers of meaning. The panel brings together Tiago Alves Costa and Marcello Belloti, translators of her poetry into Portuguese and Italian, moderated by poet, scholar, and translator Noèlia Díaz Vicedo.

The session delves into the difficulties and discoveries when conveying Arderiu’s subtle poetic voice into other languages. Held at the historic Ateneu Barcelonès, it provides a thoughtful perspective on this canonical poet within the official centenary commemorations.
✨ A singular opportunity to rediscover Clementina Arderiu's poetic depth beyond borders.
