📖 Premiere of the cobla arrangement of 'Glòria'

The concert presents the world premiere of the cobla version of Albert Guinovart's Glòria. The piece was originally commissioned for choir and orchestra by El cor canta for their 2019 debut at L'Auditori de Barcelona, followed by an adaptation for wind band, choir, and soprano soloist premiered in late 2025.

Cobla Sant Jordi-Ciutat de Barcelona performs this newly arranged score, specially commissioned by the Cicle de Cobla a Barcelona for its inaugural New Year's Concert. The musical program is split into two halves: the first half showcases sardanes and surprises under conductor Miquel Massana, while the second half features Glòria conducted by Elisenda Carrasco.

🎶 The performers and the concert cycle

The evening features the extensive vocal ensemble El cor canta, composed of 140 singers and originally created through OBC's participatory concerts. This performance serves as the foundation for the choir's upcoming tour across various venues in Catalonia during February and March.

✨ An exceptional festive occasion to welcome the New Year through traditional sounds and vibrant choral harmonies.
