📖 Tribute to the Seventh Chieftain
Between 1994 and 1997, The Chieftains and Carlos Núñez, as an honorary member of the ensemble, recorded the acclaimed album Santiago. Honoured with a Grammy Award, this achievement was an unprecedented milestone that connected musical tradition with audiences worldwide.
During those extraordinary years, Carlos Núñez joined the universe of the legendary Irish band, sharing recording studios, stages, and major international tours with renowned artists across genres. Their close relationship led band founder Paddy Moloney to affectionately call him "the seventh Chieftain".
