📖 Galician and Chilean traditions in a contemporary light

Under the project name Os sons da gaita, this Barcelona-based duo explores fresh soundscapes that bring the bagpipe into a contemporary musical language while honoring traditional roots.

Their repertoire features original compositions alongside arrangements of traditional tunes from Galicia and Chile. On stage, both musicians play Galician bagpipes, vocals, and tambourines, joined by guitar and accordion in an intimate tavern setting.

🎶 The series and the artists

La Taverna del CAT is a regular Wednesday autumn series focusing on acoustic folk and traditional music.

Raquel Fernández contributes her background as a Galician bagpiper and pianist, while Chilean musician Josemaría Moure brings his expertise as a bagpiper, composer, and producer.
