📖 Jazz and world music without borders

Composer and oud master Mehmet Polat leads a quartet of seasoned musicians to blend modern jazz with the musical heritages of the Middle East, Africa, India, the Balkans, and Europe.

His pieces delve into irregular time signatures and complex meters such as 5/4, 7/4, and 9/8, creating an atmospheric fusion where experimentation, melodic freedom, and the interplay of East and West flourish. The quartet is completed by Franz von Chossy on piano, Daniel van Huffelen on double bass, and Jeroen Batterink on drums.
