🎭 The opera

Premiered in 1904 and based on David Belasco's stage drama, Madama Butterfly is one of the most acclaimed and frequently performed operas in the world. Few works in the repertoire move and surprise audiences as much.

Its wonderful orchestration and melodic inspiration, verist yet exotic and intensely passionate, have made it one of the most tragic, piercing and moving stories of all time.

🎼 The production

A staged version in two acts, two hours long with a 15-minute interval. Orquestra NovAria Filharmonia under music director Jofre Bardolet, soloists, chorus led by Marta Finestres, ballet choreographed by Núria Serra, period costumes and lighting by Imesde.

ℹ️ Good to know: sung in Italian. Arrive early: the Paral·lel fills up with theatregoers before curtain time.

✨ Puccini at his purest, to be swept away by emotion.
