Hundreds of sunrises over the Sagrada Família, recorded day by day during its final year of construction, brought together on a large-scale screen. 🎨🌅
The still unfinished work is by Mexican artist Diego Martinez Chacon and is being shown to the public for the first time, in an installation designed by NAKED SPACE.

🌅 A year of sunrises
The installation gathers a documentary archive of timelapses recorded at every sunrise in 2026 from a raised viewpoint in Gràcia. Filmed against the light, the basilica appears mostly as a black silhouette, shifting attention from architectural detail to what changes around it: light, weather, cranes and the rhythm of the city. The passing of time is the real subject.
🎧 Three days, three moods
Friday 9 is opening night, with a music performance and drinks. Saturday 10 is an open day with live sound performances by Diego Martinez Chacon, Kazumi Sakoda and Yuya Yoshimatsu, over electronic soundscapes that weave in sounds from the recordings themselves and from Barcelona. Sunday 11 closes with a slow afternoon of coffee and treats.
ℹ️ Good to know: suitable for all ages. It is a contemplative piece, best enjoyed without rushing. It is not connected to visits to the basilica, which is in a different neighbourhood. Metro Glòries (L1) or Llacuna (L4).
✨ An invitation to slow down and look at Barcelona through its most iconic building.
