How are the metropolis's streets, squares and parks being designed for climate change? A free exhibition explains it with models, audiovisuals and interactive displays. 🏙️🌳
Futur immediat: Transformar l'espai públic metropolità is the major exhibition of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB) within Barcelona World Capital of Architecture 2026.
🎨 FUTUR IMMEDIAT
📅 Until Sunday 25 October 2026 (final days)
🕐 Tuesday to Sunday, 11 am to 7 pm
📍 Former Drassanes Terminal, Moll de Barcelona
🎟️ Free entry
🧭 The route
Rather than looking back, the exhibition focuses on solutions already being put into practice: climate adaptation, urban connectivity, sustainable mobility, heritage recovery, care of parks and beaches, flexible infrastructure and new ways of sharing space.
It is organised in four sections (Introduction, Workshop, Making-of and Terminal) explaining who is behind the transformation of public space, which projects are under way and which tools are used. Models, photographs, plans and audiovisuals show how decisions affecting everyday street life are made.
🏛️ Forty years of metropolis
The show reviews four decades of AMB projects aimed at a more liveable, resilient and sustainable city, in language designed for both the general public and specialists. It continues outdoors with a nature classroom on the Moll de les Drassanes.
ℹ️ Good to know: closed on Mondays. Texts mainly in Catalan. Parallel programme of talks, guided tours, workshops and family activities.
✨ A last chance to see what the city of tomorrow will look like.
