📖 Chance, uncertainty, and fate

The word chance in Catalan traces its roots back to az-zahr, a medieval dice game popular in al-Andalus named after the orange blossom marked on one face of the dice. Exploring this intricate concept, the exhibition delves into coincidence, destiny, and the abrupt intrusion of unexpected occurrences.

The showcase offers diverse perspectives on unpredictability through the work of Joan Brossa, Luz Broto, Joana Cera, Joan Jonas, Teresa Margolles, Martín Llavaneras, Fina Miralles, Joan Ponç, Sergio Prego, Enrique Ramírez, Allan Sekula, and Oriol Vilanova.
