📖 A journey to ancient centers of influence
Long before Antoni Gaudí's intervention, Bellesguard and Pedralbes Monastery served as prominent centers of power at the foot of Collserola. Monarchs, queens, and prominent political and cultural figures such as Elisenda de Montcada, King Martin the Humane, Margarida de Prades, Violant de Bar, Bernat Metge, Benedict XIII, and Cecília d'Urgell frequented these grounds when the landscape consisted of streams, fields, and woods.
The tour lasts 2.5 hours. It starts at Torre Bellesguard with a one-hour visit, continues with commentary during the transfer by public transport, and concludes with an additional one-hour guided explanation at Pedralbes Monastery.
🎨 Commemoration and heritage
This initiative coincides with two major commemorations in 2026: the 700th anniversary of Pedralbes Monastery and the centenary of Gaudí's death, forming part of the Gaudí Year program.
