📖 The Meaning of a Scar

The exhibition brings together thirty photographic portraits of children, youth, and adults, most of whom live with congenital heart disease. In each image, the participants openly reveal the scar resulting from open-heart surgery, presenting it as an unmistakable symbol of life, strength, and endurance while sharing their personal stories.

This initiative seeks to break stigmas and normalize a delicate subject. Living with heart disease involves physical and psychological impacts that require attention, helping individuals and their families navigate and manage the crises that arise across different stages of life.

🤝 Care and Commitment with CorAvant

Fundació CorAvant was established through the support of AACIC to ensure continuity and quality of care services developed for children and adolescents as they transitioned into adulthood. Today, the foundation supports youth and adults facing any type of cardiovascular disease.

The exhibition can be visited at Torre Jussana, a community service center located in Barcelona's Horta-Guinardó district.
