Karen Kuronuma will perform a demanding solo piano programme exploring varied musical eras and styles. The performance opens with three sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti: Sonatas K 1, K 239 “Fandango”, and K 427.

The recital continues into the musical world of Claude Debussy with his celebrated Estampes (“Pagodes”, “La soirée dans Grenade”, and “Jardins sous la pluie”), followed by the virtuosity of “El pelele” from Enrique Granados' Goyescas No. 5.

The evening concludes with a monumental work by Sergei Rachmaninoff: the Piano Sonata No. 2 in B-flat minor, Op. 36, presented in its revised 1931 version.
