📖 Falla and the reinvention of the harpsichord
The repertoire establishes a dialogue across diverse musical eras. It features J. M. Sánchez-Verdú's arrangement of T. L. Victoria's Tantum ergo for flute, oboe, clarinet, violin, and cello, alongside Sánchez-Verdú's own piece Las ínsulas extrañas for harpsichord and quintet. Additionally, the group will perform Sánchez-Verdú's arrangement of J. Vásquez's De los álamos vengo, madre for clarinet and cello.
The program also includes landmark keyboard works: four sonatas by D. Scarlatti (K 159, K 461, K 208, and K 118) and J. S. Bach's famous Italian Concerto in F major, BWV 971, concluding with Manuel de Falla's landmark Concerto for harpsichord and five instruments.
